ELON Musk, the world’s richest man has closed his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, ousting several senior executives in his first move at the top of the company.
He appeared to confirm media reports of his takeover, tweeting “the bird is freed” and later said “let the good times roll”.
According to reports, a number of top executives, including the CEO, Parag Agrawal, have reportedly been fired.
It will be recalled that Musk had earlier halted the move to buy the bird app due to his complaints of the app been dominated by too many fake accounts.
The billionaire is reported to have lifted the ban placed on former United States of America’s President account, Donald Trump withe expectations that Trump will be back on the app next week.
Mr. Trump has praised the app’s acquisition by Elon Musk saying, ‘Twitter is now in a sane hand’.
The South Africa born entrepreneur Elon Musk is known for founding Tesla Motors and SpaceX, which launched a landmark commercial spacecraft in 2012.
He was born in 1971.
